🛣️ Nomad

“The cities rot. The roads are dangerous. Someone’s gotta keep things moving. We haul people, cargo, secrets. We’re the last connection between what’s left of civilization.”
🎯 Identity
Play this if you want to be like… Mad Max • Han Solo • The Mandalorian • Panam (Cyberpunk 2077)
You’re the road warrior, the outsider, the one who lives beyond the walls. Your family is your pack, and your vehicle is your home. Night City is just a place to do business.
The Nomad Life
Most Nomads belong to a larger family or pack — extended clans that travel together, share resources, and protect their own. Your identity is inseparable from your family.

💡 Character Concepts
- The Road Warrior — Violence on wheels. You live for the chase.
- The Convoy Captain — You lead transports through dangerous territory.
- The Exile — Cast out from your family, trying to find your way.
- The Scout — You go ahead, find the dangers, report back.
- The Mechanic — The vehicle matters more than the destination.
- The Smuggler — Your cargo doesn’t ask questions. Neither do you.
🎮 Role Ability: Moto
Your relationship with vehicles. A Nomad adds their Moto Rank to any Drive Land Vehicle, Pilot Air Vehicle, Pilot Sea Vehicle, Air Vehicle Tech, Land Vehicle Tech, or Sea Vehicle Tech Skill Check.
Each time you increase Moto Rank, choose one:
- Add a stock vehicle of your Rank or lower from the Family Motorpool
- Upgrade an existing Family Vehicle with a single upgrade of your Rank or lower
Family Motorpool
Only one Family Vehicle can be out at a time. Call Family to swap — arrives next morning. These vehicles belong to the Family, not you.
| Rank | Available Vehicles |
|---|---|
| 1–4 | Compact Groundcar, Gyrocopter, Jetski, Roadbike |
| 5–6 | Helicopter, High Performance Groundcar, Speedboat |
| 7–8 | AV-4, Cabin Cruiser, Superbike |
| 9–10 | Aerozep, AV-9, Super Groundcar, Yacht |
Repairs: If a vehicle is destroyed, the Family fully repairs it for 500eb (takes 1 week). Daily repairs (bullet removal, etc.) are on you.
Rank 10 Promotion: You become a leader in your Family. All Family Vehicles can be out at once. Future vehicles cost market price; future upgrades cost 1,000eb each.

📘 How to Play
Roleplay Tips
Nomads are outsiders in a world built on urban tribalism. You don’t fit neatly into Night City’s hierarchy, and that’s your advantage:
- Family is everything. Your pack defines you. Even if you’ve left, that bond shapes who you are.
- The road vs. the city. Night City is claustrophobic, corrupt, and full of people who’d betray you. The road is honest — dangerous, but honest.
- Freedom has a price. No rent, no boss, no rules. But also no safety net, no backup, no 911.
Common Situations
| Situation | Roll This | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Driving under pressure | REF + Drive Land Vehicle + Moto | Your core roll |
| Vehicle repair | TECH + Land Vehicle Tech + Moto | Moto bonus applies |
| Drive-by shooting | REF + Handgun or Shoulder Arms | One-handed = Handgun |
| Ramming another vehicle | REF + Drive + Moto | See Vehicle Combat for rules |
| Navigating the Badlands | INT + Wilderness Survival | Finding routes, avoiding hazards |
| Spotting an ambush | INT + Perception | On the road, alertness saves lives |
| Physical challenges | DEX + Athletics | Climbing, jumping, running |
| Brawling at a rest stop | DEX + Brawling | The Nomad way of settling things |
Tactical Tips
- Your vehicle is a weapon. Ramming deals massive damage. Onboard weapons let you fight and drive.
- Moto bonus applies to everything vehicle-related. Driving AND repairing. Max your Moto rank.
- Invest in Drive Land Vehicle and Shoulder Arms. Drive-by with a rifle is the Nomad specialty.
- Upgrade smart. Armored Chassis + Bulletproof Glass makes your car a mobile fortress early.
- At Rank 7, get the AV-4 Engine Upgrade. Your car can fly. That’s a game-changer.
- Family as backup. You can swap vehicles — bring the right tool for the job.
