Cyberpsychosis is a dissociative disorder caused by excessive cybernetic augmentation. When someone loses too much Humanity, they become a Cyberpsycho—a dangerous individual who has lost touch with their humanity.
The Problem in Night City
Cyberpsychos are a constant threat. They’re why:
- MAX-TAC (Maximum Force Tactical Division) exists—elite cops trained to take down borged-out psychos
- Trauma Team maintains combat-ready medics
- Corps have “retirement” programs for employees showing signs
- People fear heavy chrome users on sight
Warning Signs
Someone approaching cyberpsychosis might:
- Treat people as obstacles rather than individuals
- Have violent reactions to minor provocations
- Obsess over getting more chrome
- Forget why they cared about loved ones
- Find other people “too slow”
There’s No Coming Back
Once someone goes full cyberpsycho, there’s no therapy that can save them. They’re gone.
The only options are:
- MaxTac puts them down
- They’re captured and institutionalized indefinitely
- They rage until they’re killed
