⚙️ Equipment
- Observation Camera — High-quality audio + video recording
- Onboard Memory Chip — Stores 1 hour of footage (auto-overwrites oldest)
- Also saves recordings to linked Agent
📖 Description
A flying drone with four rotors, roughly the size of a book. Records high-quality sound and video. Can be controlled directly or set to auto-orbit and film. Local and corporate governments may have rules about where you can fly and what you can record.
At 15 HP and no SP, it won’t survive a fight — but that’s not what it’s for. The Observer is a surveillance and recording tool: perfect for documenting evidence, scouting ahead (within 6m), or streaming your runs for Media clout.
⚠️ Operation Modes
Linking: Linked to Agent. Re-linking requires 5 uninterrupted minutes, both Agents within 6 m/yds. If countered, attacker can view or download stored footage, then re-link with 1 Action.
- Standby: Powered on but not recording or moving. Can still be used as a real-time camera (live view on Agent). Cannot attack or dodge.
- Auto Mode: Orbits within 6 m/yds of linked Agent, recording audio and video. Responds to simple verbal commands (“record the person I’m pointing at”) — no Action required. Stores on onboard chip (1 hour) + Agent. Cannot attack or dodge.
- Direct Control: Controlled via Agent using 1 Action (same as Netrunner Interface → Control). Uses your own skills. Cannot dodge ranged attacks.
