📝 Description

Also called a “silencer” (though it doesn’t actually silence the weapon), a suppressor reduces the noise signature of a firearm significantly. The weapon is still audible, but the distinctive crack of gunfire is muffled, making it much harder for enemies to locate the shooter.

Mechanics

• +2 DV to Perception checks to locate the shooter
• Reduces noise to “loud conversation” level instead of “extremely loud”
• Best used with subsonic ammunition for maximum effect

Limitations

• Cannot be mounted on shotguns or revolvers
• Does not work on most heavy weapons
• Requires compatible barrel threading
