🛢️ SovOil

“The world runs on oil. We run the oil.”

The Neo-Sovetskiy Neftyanoy Kombinat (Neo-Soviet Oil Combine) — better known as SovOil — sits atop the world’s largest remaining petroleum reserves. A petrochemical leviathan born from the old Soviet state oil industry, SovOil is powerful, ruthless, and increasingly desperate as CHOOH2 biofuel undermines their dominance.

👤 Leadership

Anatoly Novaragov (Face)

Large, loud, and ostentatious. Wears open shirts and gold jewelry. Favors expensive cars, strong alcohol, and beautiful women. Previously a faceless bureaucrat — the transformation has people wondering whether this is the real Novaragov or a replacement. Reputation for ruthlessness, with connections to both the KGB and the Bratva (Russian mafia).

📜 History

Origins

Formed from KeroSov, the Neo-Soviet state-run oil industry, after a program of expansion and modernization. SovOil inherited the world’s largest petroleum reserves in Siberia.

The 2nd Corporate War (2008–2010)

SovOil and Petrochem fought a devastating war over South China Sea oil fields. The conflict polluted the entire South China Sea. SovOil defied international sanctions and was eventually forced to pay reparations. After the war, SovOil refocused on Siberian reserves while Petrochem pivoted to CHOOH2.

The 4th Corporate War

During the Arasaka-Militech conflict, SovOil and Petrochem sold aviation fuel to both sides at massive markups — the infamous “AV Gas War.” SovOil also launched sporadic attacks on Petrochem throughout.

Post-War Decline

The Neo-Soviet Union was weakened by antiquated technology and an unstable economy based almost entirely on fossil fuels. SovOil remains powerful but faces an existential threat from CHOOH2 biofuel adoption.
